Kat Powers lives in Scarborough, Maine with her two young sons and three cats. Kat has been self-employed in the Interior Design Industry for 20 years. Kat is the host of THE HOUSE OF KAT on FOX23 in Portland and www.myfoxmaine.com, featuring creative and inspirational ideas for home and family. Kat has also been a contributing columnist for Maine Home Design and The Maine Switch.

In March of this year, Kat launched her new collection of home furnishings that are inspired by nature. In 2005 Kat opened The Designer’s Co-op in Scarborough, Maine. Prior to that she owned KopiKat in Portland and Yarmouth, Maine. In 1990 Kat launched her initial effort in the industry under the name Decorable, in Portland Maine. Kat is a graduate of Westbrook College in Portland, Maine.

Kat has built a reputation on her eye for color, her do-it-yourself decorating workshops and her ability to inspire others. Her unique approach to custom window treatments and home furnishings are also highly recognizable.

In the 1990’s Kat traveled nationally providing custom paint finishes for Polo Ralf Loren retail outlets and was the first to offer faux finish instruction in Southern Maine. You may also recognize her from her monthly decorating show in the late 1990’s on WCHS-TV in Portland. Kat has helped hundreds of homeowners and families throughout the Greater Portland area and continues to offer enthusiastic and knowledgeable guidance in making it home.
